just as we featured the band women, none of which are women, way back when even less people checked out this site, today we feature girls, another group who doesnt feature any…girls. but its almost as if the album should be called “girls” cuz thats what its all about. but i guess since they already used the name “girls” so they decided to name the album “album”. cant blame them for not being straight to the point. anyway, frontman christopher owens had a pretty crazy life as a childhood cult member turned quasi-vagabond turned millionaire pet project turned san franciscoan. thats where he met chet “jr” white and the rest is history. sorry chris, didnt mean to try to sum up your life in one awful sentence like that.
i actually pulled an audible on myself yesterday in putting this song up. i had another great tune locked and loaded (have no fear, its coming soon), and when i realized that this song had been in my head for about 3 days, i decided it was time to get it up here in the hopes that one or two of you out there hadnt heard it yet. this album was described perfectly by faceblog. genre: punk (the good kind), pop (the good kind), singer-songwriter (the good kind). its another one of those great songs that is just so darn happy soundingwhen you listen to it, but its really about a gal who wants a little more to make her happy. anyway hopefully this song will give you visions of sun, surf and sand on a cold october morning. plus, if you think about it, i feel like there arent really that many songs that mention pizza, so thats kind of cool too.
