saturday throwback. the four tops – bernadette

there were approximately 1,000 saturday throwback songs that could have worked to close out uncommon chick names week, but in the end i went back to an old standard by another classic motown act, the four tops. there isnt really much to say about the four tops other than the fact that they are one of the biggest motown acts ever with close to a million big hits, but todays track “bernadette” was always one of my favorites. its a little misleading because lyrically its a straight up love song, but musically it sounds kind of minor and not so lovey dovey. i was just thinking, when theres a group act like this, do you think they feel obligated to write a love song about every member of the bands significant other, or do they just write one song about a fictional character to cover all their bases? ok, im exhausted. please join us monday when we will return to our regularly scheduled programming.
