saturday throwback. white town – your woman

i know what youre thinking. “saturday throwback my foot! this amazing and timeless song just came out a few years ago!” in reality, however, it was released way back in 1997. the same year as my illustrious 8th grade graduation. white town is actually a one man show, that man being native indian (that is, born in india but raised in the uk) jyoti prakash mishra. and even more interesting is that hes released 4 albums, the last one as recently as 2006.
but like it or not, he will probably always be known for this tune, and thats not a horrible legacy because even to this day when the song happens to come on the radio or at a bar, you can usually overhear a few people proclaiming “i totally forgot how good this song is!” and thats kind of cool to hear if youre a musician. or so ive heard. from all of the famous musicians with whom ive chatted and asked what they think when people talk about how sweet they are. that was sarcasm, because thats never happened.
on a side note, im moving today! next time you hear from me, i will be in my new humble abode. exciting, huh?

Love this song! didn’t realise it only came out in 1997, thought it was from the 80′s…

What a great tune! Do you know if he ever tours? I, too, am guilty for only really knowing this one tune.

Yes – This is an Awesome song. I listened to it over and over again. I even bought the album. Which wasn’t quite as good.
