miike snow – billie holiday

if you read this blog, it should come as no surprise to you that im one of the biggest miike snow fluffers on the web. but i feel that its completely justified. so imagine my surprise when i found out that there was actually a miike snow song i hadnt heard before. how could this have happened?

the track is called “billie holiday”, and i guess its a bonus track on the uk version of their album. why do the non-US countries always get the bonus tracks? i feel like japan especially always gets bonus tracks, and it just aint right. luckily, the internet now exists, so we can all hear these once exclusive bonus tracks. to all of you lawyers out there, do you think theres a valid legal argument that releasing a bonus track in one country only is discriminatory? yeah, i didnt think so. well anyway, hopefully if you havent heard this song yet, it will brighten your day, much in the same way that my day is brightened right now by me relaxing in palm springs instead of working. coincidentally, it is here in palm springs (well, close to palm springs) where i will next be seeing miike snow at COACHELLA! i think im more excited for this fest than any other before. a countdown may appear in the coming days, as well as a self-imposed spending freeze, so i can afford said coachella festival.

  2. Its a good track.. i am a die hard fan of Miike Snow.. but billy holiday seemed a little too mechanical to what I am used to hearing.

  6. “Bonus Tracks” are typically only available in non-US releases because they’re often more expensive, so it’s an incentive.

  9. Originally thought this was gonna be a cover of the Warpaint song. I’m disappointed.

  11. Chris….thank you…thank you, I first caught wind of Miike snow on your blog this past summer and have been spreading the word…one of the best of 09 fo sho. I caught them with Jack Penate in Vancouver with only a couple hundred people and the show was off the hook. Every song was like a “Silvia” style jam, can’t wait to see them in Toronto in April.

    keep up the good work
