I typically know within the first 15 seconds of a song whether or not I can roll with it. And a few days ago when we were hanging at my friend Jason’s place prior to the Hamtramck Blowout, I heard this one while he was playing some 45s that he had packed away and recently found, and I liked it pretty much right off the bat. It turned out to be by The Incredible Moses Leroy, who is actually Californian Ron Fountenberry. The track “1983″, coincidentally the year I was born, is catchy as heck. And it has that great electronic but not really electronic feel, along with a driving drum beat. These are all things that I can stand behind. I haven’t been able to find out a whole lot more about this fellow but I’m going to keep moving forward in my quest.

I’m not really sure when this song was released, but to me it’s got this distinctly ’90s feel to it that I rather enjoy.
