volta cab – clarissa

I love chilled electro, and I love songs that sound like they are from outer space. So imagine my enjoyment when I find a song that’s a great combination of both. This time, it’s a product of Volta Cab, who is Konstantyn Isaew hailing from Ulyanovsk, Russia. Could it be that we’ve had yet another first here, with our first ever Russian act? Make no mistake about it, though. Despite my chilled out description, it doesn’t mean that “Clarissa” isn’t sure to fill the dance floor. I’ve definitely been moving away from the dirty electro that I used to love so much, and while that’s always fun in the right setting, I’m becoming all about this more versatile sound that I can listen to in any setting. It works just as well for a dance party as it does for background music at a more low key function like a cocktail party (do people still have “cocktail parties”, and if so, do they still call them that?). Even though the tune clocks in at just over seven minutes, I don’t think you will ever get bored.

And since I wasn’t able to come up with a witty “Clarissa Explains It All” reference (which is probably for the best anyway). But that doesn’t mean that we can’t watch the openin credits and remember our childhood.

Perhaps the real reason I included that clip is that this song will now sound even more refreshing.
