lusine – two dots

I know I say this all the time here, but I am continually impressed at the unique, out of the box and most importantly really captivating artists that are a part of Ann Arbor’s Ghostly International label. I truly think it’s one of the most progressive labels out there, and the fact that it’s so close to home makes it even more of a gem. I first heard this fantastic track by Lusine a few days ago in my friend Meg’s car on the way to a show and was not surprised when she told me that Lusine was a Ghostly artist.

Lusine is the name of Seattle via Texas ambient musician Jeff McIlwain. And on this very day, Ghostly is releasing “Lucky Numbers: The Ghostly International EPs” which is a retrospective look at Lusine’s work from the earlier days. I cannot wait to pick this one up, because even from the few songs I’ve heard, starting with this track, “Two Dots”, I’m a little blown away at how beautiful and interesting this music is, all in such a simple package.
