For some reason, when I first heard “Breakneck Speed” by Tokyo Police Club, I thought it was alright, but I didn’t love it. I thought it was missing that certain…je ne sais quoi…that I loved so much about them. I think that certain something was a more upbeat tempo. Luckily, the Jetlag remix (Jetlag being the duo of Ole Koretsky and Andy Rourke), first premiered by Sheena Beaston recently while she was doing her guest gig over at East Village Radio, takes care of that for me and generally makes the song more awesome if I do say so myself. I think I especially like the end of the track when it gets a little more chill. Did I just contradict myself? Probably, I’m pretty good at that. But at least I’m good at something, right?
