Since it’s only been a few months since my obsession with Aeroplane began on that fateful Friday afternoon in Indio, California under the shade of the Sahara tent as my first true Coachella set (the 15 minutes that were left of Yeasayer by the time wristbandgate 2010 had ended doesn’t count), I was saddened by the recent news that Stephen Fasano and Vito De Luca would no longer be performing together as Aeroplane. But I was also very happy that De Luca would be keeping the legacy alive as Aeroplane on his own. And luckily, since this news broke, Aeroplane seems to be showing no signs of wear or of slowing down. And last week, in gratitude for reaching 10,000 fans on Facebook, the group offered up this gem to it’s fans – a mashup of their remix of “Paris” by Friendly Fires and of the sultry “Crave You” by Flight Facilities. The track was originally found on their 500th Essential mix, which you should probably check if you haven’t already.

The perfect marriage of two tunes I inevitably associate with Aeroplane. The “Paris” remix, for obvious reasons, and “Crave You”, one of my favorite tracks from that memorable Coachella set. I thought this might be the perfect tune after an extended sunny holiday weekend.
