NYC’s Crystal Stilts is at it again working on their second studio album, the follow up to 2008′s Alight of Night and have been kind enough to share the first single via their Soundcloud page in advance of its release on October 21. I don’t know what you’d call this reverb-laden rock sound that the group has made their trademark, but I know I like it. The single is called “Shake the Shackles” and it has such a classic sound that I can’t get enough of, like this song could have been a huge hit 40 years ago had it been released back then and it’s a great example of some old fashioned solid songwriting. The contrasts between the dark and brooding verses and the major chorus are stupendous. Can’t wait to see what else these kids have in store for us with a potential new album on the horizon.
