The past month for me has been pretty much all Twin Shadow all the time. I got to see them live a few weeks ago, a truly unexpectedly epic experience that I’m glad to have witnessed with my own two eyes. And I listened to Forget pretty much non-stop leading up to the big show, which was definitely an enjoyable task to say the least. And now one of the quintessential tracks from the album gets remixed by New Jersey’s Com Truise, a fellow I had never heard of until a few weeks ago but whose name has appeared before me quite a few times in that span. He also recently remixed Neon Indian’s “Sleep Paralysist” not once, but twice. In the case of “Castles In The Snow”, what we lose in the super fast sometimes double-time beat that made this song such a standout we gain in sounds that are even more retro than the original. And while it’s tough for us to enjoy anything more than the original, we definitely do not hate this remix.
