So remember a couple of weeks ago when we posted that awesome and kind of trippy video for “First Idea” from north county San Diego (the San Diego equivalent of clarifying that you’re from upstate New York) band The Glass Canoe that felt a whole lot like a hot and sticky summer day? Well, they’ve released their first album Chimera which you can listen to in its entirety and download for free over on their bandcamp page right now. Or tomorrow, or any other time you want, ever. If it’s too much trouble to click over and listen there, you can get a sample of “Happy”, a 6-minute quasi-folky tune that feels somewhat like an epic that seems to have several movements all working together, going seamlessly from major to minor and back again. It’s a pretty cool tune, if you’re into that kind of stuff, which I am.
