I was supposed to put up a preview of this years Movement Festival, 3 days of electronic riverfront fun right here in Detroit and my favorite Detroit weekend of the year, but I didn’t. As some consolation, I figured it would be good to get in the spirit of the festival with this newest track from Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, the oft-costumed and head-dressed artist we’ve been following for about 2 years now since we first heard the deliciously unique “Garden” back in 2010 and who blew us away with his live show at Cameo Gallery during last fall’s CMJ in New York City. It was after that performance that I decided that TEED was THE perfect performer for the Red Bull stage at Movement. Alas, his name did not appear on the lineup, but fortunately for me my other boy SBTRKT will be playing that very stage tonight. Either way, I can’t wait to catch TEED again and his debut album Trouble will finally be released in just a few weeks on June 11 (ironically, it looks like it was exactly two years before then on June 11, 2010 when we first posted “Garden”). I haven’t heard the album yet but I fully expect it to soundtrack a good number of summer gatherings this year and beyond. Check out this edit of “Stronger” to hold you over until the album has been released to the masses.
Enjoy your holiday weekends and if you are in the greater metro Detroit area, you better get your asses down to Hart Plaza to officially kick off your summer with 100 of your favorite electronic artists.

There’s nothing I hate more than hipsters wearing headdresses.

No! It’s not like that! Does it help if I tell you that the headdress is just one of the head things he wears, and is often on stage in a full dinosaur costume?
