Didn’t we just post a Little Loud remix? Why yes, yes we did. But as long as the hits keep on coming, then we keep on repeating on and on until infinity. As far as musicians are concerned, Ariel Pink (and his Haunted Graffiti) is about as polarizing as they get. Typically someone is either obsessed with him for his role in the popularity of the lo-fi sounds that have taken the world of music by storm, or someone hates him for his role in the popularity of the lo-fi sounds that have take the world of music by storm. I, on the other hand, am above the laws of love and hate, and can confidently say that there’s some Ariel Pink that I love and some that I just don’t quite understand. However, “Round and Round”, the shining gem of the 2010 album Before Today is definitely one of the tunes of his that I love. And it should come as no surprise that it’s the beaming “Hold on” chorus that really gets me. So it’s just all the more reason that I completely dig Little Loud’s remix, which brings this chorus into the limelight. And even though he keeps it lo-fi, it’s also got a bigger beat and overall is likely a bit more palatable if you were among the haters before. So, just try it, ok?

We’ve brought you remixes by both Clock Opera and Little Loud in the past (remember this Golden Filter remix and this Memory Tapes remix?), but today those two worlds collide as Little Loud remixes Clock Opera. You see, London fearsome foursome Clock Opera is releasing “Once and For All” as a single on 11/1 via Kitsune, and Little Loud has added a touch of synth into the mix to put his own personal spin on this already kickin’ tune. For the full Little Loud effect, make sure to wait for the drop in which this remix really takes shape. You’ll know when you get there, because it will be pretty on the ears. This is also one of those cases where it would behoove you to listen to both the original and the remix, because they both have quite a bit to offer.

“Bicycle” was undoubtedly one of my favorite songs of 2010. Maybe it was because I didn’t really hear it much until the latter part of the year so it was still fresh in my head, but whatever the reason, I totally dig/dug it. I liked the way it started out sort of minor sounding and then erupted into this big beautiful burst of Memory Tapes goodness. So I was pretty glad to hear this recent remix by Little Loud which sort of takes that to a whole new level. The UK producer slowed the song down quite a bit and almost removed the beat all together in the beginning of the song and took out the minor intro and replaced it with undeniably happy tones that are just really, really nice to listen to. Ending sentences with prepositions is where its at. <-- See what I did there? And then, when the beat does come back in, it's pretty much one of the happier things I've heard in recent memory. A really nice rework of one of my favorites.

Acephale Records just completed a second pressing of the Memory Tapes Seek Magic LP, and you can pick it up here if you’re interested.
