today we continue our trek through hip hop week with a track from “the ecstatic”, the latest album from mos def. the album was released in the summer of 2009 and was met with much critical acclaim and has even been nominated for the grammy for best rap album. and with tracks like this one, its not hard to see why.

“auditorium” is the third track on the album and features the legendary slick rick, known for his eye patch and excessive jewelery (was he the originator of hip hops bling movement?). the first thing youll notice about this track is the catchy and mysterious sample of madlibs “get it right” from “beat konducta in india”. and no, i definitely didnt know that and had to look it up. either way, it makes this song pretty hot and goes pretty well with the middle eastern lyrics in the second half of the song.
