saturday throwback. superchunk – driveway to driveway

this weeks throwback, “driveway to driveway” by superchunk, whose name is sure to invoke visions of a famous goonie(please, for your own good, click on that link), isnt that much of a throwback really. well, the song was released back in 1994, when i was a mere 11 years old, so i guess it has been around for a while, and definitely long enough to qualify. superchunk, out of durham, north carolina, has been pretty huge in the indie rock world for reasons other than their music. in order to release their music, the band started the merge record label, which just celebrated its twentieth anniversary with a 5 night music fest and is bigger than ever before. its artist roster is a veritable whos who of the indie rock world and theyve signed tons of my favorite artists. pretty awesome for a couple of kids who just wanted to release their music, eh? …read more and hear the song…
