Hey kids, good news: It’s the weekend! Even more good news, I’ve got a real nice weekend track for all of you to enjoy as you temporarily escape the hustle and bustle of the 9-5 grind and change into some more comfortable digs in the form of weekend goodness. It’s from a strange combination of three dailybeatz alums who, I’m sure you’ve figured out by now, are none other than Shinichi Osawa (previously here and here), Tommie Sunshine (previously here) and Edwin van Cleef (previously here). We’re big fans of all these electronic cats who do so many good things in their own good ways, so combining all three into 6 minutes of happy madness is something that is destined to be great, and I think it pretty much is. This track is from Osawa’s SO2 Remixes album which, I believe, was just released this week, and it’s pretty flippin’ huge. And despite the demonic vocals at times, we think it’s a pretty happy track to start the weekend out right too, so give it a spin.

Can you believe it’s already July? More importantly, can you believe it’s already July and I just got my first tan (read:extreme sunburn)? It’s pretty embarrassing, but luckily June was a great month so we don’t feel THAT bad about it. We released the second of (hopefully) many mixtapes to come, the Summer Drive Mixtape (know it, live it, love it), and while it didnt have all the hype of the Blogwave Summer Mixtape, it definitely had all the energy and summer sizzle. And I got to see tons of acts I hadn’t seen before, many of which are on the precipice of hugeness. And now I present to you your favorite tracks from the month of June. And I think you all did a pretty good job of loving some awesome tracks the most.

Kelis – 4th of July (Fireworks)(Calvin Harris Remix)

Fake Blood – I Think I Like It (Tommie Sunshine & Figure EC$TASY Edit)

Royksopp – What Else Is There?

Aeroplane – We Can’t Fly

Breakbot – Baby I’m Yours (Aeroplane Remix)

Let’s see if we can make July the raddest month EVER

If you aren’t sucked in by the first minute of this track, have no fear. Because it’s not really until after that first minute that it takes off. I’ve sometimes been accused of skewing a little too disco at times. And to all the people that have said that about the music we put up here, well, I really don’t have a good argument today against that. But at least a lot of the disco has a hot modern beat dropped on top of it, right? Fake Blood, originators of this tune, laid down the basis for the hotness and then Tommie Sunshine and Figure put their magic touch on it which, I believe, included adding a tasty saxomophone solo to the end. The original is about 3 minutes and this edit is just over 5, but every minute is enjoyable.
